It’s even better than OK, it’s awesome!
The goal here is to add perspective and motivation.
People are generally self conscious. As much as you doubt yourself, everyone else is busy doubting themselves. Remember that one time you tripped in front of everyone? You remember, but they don’t. Even if one person does, NO ONE CARES. That’s because they had their own embarrassing moment right afterwards and they can’t get over it.
Everyone poops. We were all born from a woman. We all have twenty-four hours in the day. These are all truths that we cannot change. Therefore, use it to your advantage. Use this enlightenment to empower yourself.
Next time you want to dance, do it. Sing? Have at it. Want to learn something, go for it. Stop asking “why me?” and tackle “why not?”! You have all the resources and time required to get the job done.
That person you look up to, they had their “stupid” moments too. No one is perfect. Not me, not you, not The Rock, and not even the legend himself, Jean-Claude Van Damme.
Action matters most.
The reason we look up to those people is because they took the action necessary to put themselves in a position to be admired. Stop putting yourself down. You are the protagonist of your movie. Make it a good one. Maybe your mistakes add to the story and it’s time for that amazing comeback. It’s your turn to be admired.
Take the action to be the person that I know you can be. I want to hear all about it. I care.

Below are some of my favorite motivational books that help add perspective to things. Unlike technical books, I’d recommend listening to them through Audible if you choose to go that route.
My brother gifted me this book once. I really like it because it is a simple, yet impactful read. Everything has an answer and a way out. You’re goal should be to live a long and happy life for you and those around you. The books is from the perspective of the author and it is relatable because of this perspective.
James Altucher is one of the smartest, dumbest, most successful failures I’ve read about. While his success are out of these world and seem unreachable, his beginnings and failures are so relatable that you feel like you’re able to hop one of those low waves with him and ride it to the top. He’s a millionaire one summer and then begging his parents for diaper money the next. And, as the title suggests, he recommends you choose yourself. Believe in yourself, build yourself, invest in yourself. Great read!
Many times, we over complicate things. We’re looking for the secret that the most successful people use, only to find it that it was right in front of us the whole time. The older you get, the less secrets there are. Actually, there are no secrets to success. Focus on what you want and go get it. That’s what I took from Earl Nightingale’s classic.
